Hello! My name is Maria Carretero.
I’m a 2D artist specializing in creating art for video games and animation, with a focus on character and environment design. I graduated in Creative Design and Technologies in 2024 with six honors, and I’ve worked on six published video games as a freelance artist over the past three years and one boardgame.
Right now I´m developing my first Short film as director, since it started it has already been selected to pitch in two festivals, Prime the animation and Dona i Cinema internacional festival. I’m motivated by travelling were I can explore new cultures and participate in Game Jams, where I enjoy teamwork and experimenting with new ideas. I have a great passion for comics, where I share storytime comic strips.
I consider myself cheerful and ambitious. I´m always open to new collaborations, so I’m excited to be part of creative and innovative projects.

Illustrator
I designed more than 52 illustrations for a cards board game since the initial sketch till the final render. I had to create crazy creative backgrounds, characters and props and receiving feedback to make changes and get the desired look.

Videogame Club
I was the coordinator of the Video Game Club during my time at university. We joined every week to develop games in groups, participate in videogames events and talks. Also, we used to organize some workshop, perfect to learn new skills.
2018-2020
Art Bachelor
I studied the two years art bachelor in Albacete and I finished it with honors.
